This time of year, I hear people talking about the Wawa Gobbler Bowl almost everywhere I go. This seasonal (and regional) comfort food features a hearty combination of Thanksgiving-inspired ingredients layered in a bowl. The base usually includes mashed potatoes or stuffing, and it is topped with sliced turkey, gravy and cranberry sauce for a sweet-tangy balance. Some versions also include green beans or corn. It’s a convenient, portable option for enjoying classic holiday flavors any time you want and people absolutely love it!
Wawa is a popular convenience store chain on the East Coast, but I grew up in Louisiana so I have never had a Gobbler Bowl. Plus, I don’t really care for turkey. I did, however, grow up with Popeyes and I love chicken! I recently found a Popeyes ordering hack that reminds me of the Wawa Gobbler Bowl, but it includes Popeyes chicken and sides, which is right up my alley.
This hack was shared by YouTuber Kevin Noparvar (@HowKevEats). His video is a few years old, that’s what’s great about social media. Even if something’s not new new, it might be new to you. Plus, Popeyes tried the hack on TikTok and signed off on it, so it has the official stamp of approval. Here’s what you need to know.

What Is the Popeye’s Sweet Heat Nugget Bowl Hack?
Noparvar used Popeyes’ Sweet Heat Chicken Nuggets for this hack, but you can use any flavor you want. If you’d like a crispier version, you can use the basic nuggets or tenders and add a dipping sauce (like BBQ or Ranch) to the mix. You can also add in some Cajun fries for extra fun!
To make this Popeyes “bowl,” Kevin added the nuggets to the top of a bowl of Popeyes’ Mac and Cheese, which he said is the best fast food mac and cheese on the market. I won’t argue with him, because I love it, too!
This hack is so simple, yet so delicious and I can’t believe I’ve never thought of it because I have done something similar for years.

My Popeyes Bowl Hack
My favorite Popeyes side dish is the red beans and rice. Cajun red beans and rice is a classic dish from Louisiana that has a hearty, earthy flavor and the Popeyes version is so good.
Classic red beans and rice features creamy red beans slow-cooked with smoked sausage or ham, onions, bell peppers, celery, garlic and spices and it’s served over white rice. The Popeyes red beans and rice is mild, but you can add hot sauce to make it spicier.
Unfortunately, Popeyes’ red beans and rice doesn’t always have enough sausage, if any at all! To fix this, I order the Popeyes crispy chicken tenders (spicy flavor, of course) and cut them into pieces. I mix those pieces into the red beans and rice to give it more flavor and a bit of crunch.
It’s absolutely delicious and so easy to make, just like the smart hack Kevin shared.
