Trinity Investments has announced the acquisition of The Hoxton, Poblenou, a 240-room hotel situated in Barcelona’s 22@ Innovation District. The hotel, which opened in 2022, features four dining venues, flexible meeting and event spaces, and a rooftop pool and lounge. The location is near the Westfield Glòries Mall and the Design Museum of Barcelona, positioning it to attract both international and local visitors.
The acquisition is part of Trinity Investments’ strategy to expand its presence in Europe. The company has previously acquired The Standard London and Park Hyatt Zurich, forming a multi-segment approach that includes luxury and design-centric properties.
Barcelona is noted as one of Europe’s robust hospitality markets, with Spain welcoming nearly 84 million visitors in 2024. The city benefits from a diverse demand base and cultural appeal. Regulatory constraints on new hotel developments have maintained high occupancy rates and pricing power, particularly in districts like 22@.
This acquisition marks Trinity’s third European purchase since establishing its London office in 2023. The company plans to continue expanding across Europe, focusing on dynamic urban neighborhoods.
