The longest canopy boardwalk ‘in the world’ can be found in Ontario

5 October 20252 Mins Read

There’s a wonderful forest walk experience in Ontario that is unlike any average hike. Reach new heights with the canopy boardwalk at Haliburton Forest. Here’s what to know.

It is described as the “longest canopy boardwalk of its kind in the world,” and we definitely believe it. This trail is just over half a kilometre long and you’ll find it situated within the tree tops.

According to its website, the canopy boardwalk is elevated 10 to 20 metres off the ground. Just picture the view from up top! But this experience is just one part of the thrilling Canopy Tour.

Enjoy in four parts

It starts with a breathtaking scenic drive through the private forest. You can drive your own car if you’d like.

You’ll then paddle a canoe across a wilderness lake, then embark on a guided walk through the Pelaw River Rapids.

And finally, you’ll reach the canopy boardwalk! All in all, the tour will take you about 3.5 to four hours to complete, and it’s open to all visitors over 10 years old.

A complimentary day pass with your Canopy Tour admission will be given, considering there’s so much more to see at the Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve.

It’s important to note that this experience is only available until Oct. 18, 2025.

So if you want to enjoy the ultimate fall experience, get your pass ASAP and hit the road!

When: Until Oct. 18, 2025
Where: 1095 Redkenn Rd., Dysart, Ont.
Cost: $98 pp
