The Lower Mainland’s only dive-in theatre and waterpark opens for the season this week

26 June 20254 Mins Read

We’re on the cusp of a mini heatwave in Vancouver, and there’s never been a better time for it. Canada Day weekend is just around the corner, and we’re days away from the reopening of the Aldergrove Community Centre waterpark, AKA the Lower Mainland’s only dive-in movie theatre!

The Township of Langley announced that the popular waterpark will once again delight families near and far starting this Friday, June 27, 2025.

Situated at the Aldergrove Community Centre, the waterpark is considered the Lower Mainland’s most affordable, at $10.75 per adult and $5.30 to $6.80 per child.

The waterpark consists of a lazy river (Canyon Creek river channel), a leisure pool, a tidal pool with beach entry, a hot tub, a splashpad, and several waterslides that are open rain or shine.

Waterpark movie nights

Want to catch a movie on the big screen and float your troubles away? You can do both here. The waterpark invites guests to bring their inflatable floaties and enjoy family-friendly movies on select Thursdays this summer.

Here are the movie nights to look forward to (so far):

  • Thursday, July 10, 2025: The Wild Robot, 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 7, 2025: Moana 2, 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, September 4, 2025: Mufasa: The Lion King, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Adults-only nights

For those who are 19+, there are Sip ‘N Dip nights, which grant adults the chance to take over the waterpark and enjoy all the outdoor fun sans kids. Sip on some local craft beer or wine and drift down Breaker Bay or Canyon Creek — you’ve earned it!

Here are all the Sip ‘N Dip nights to check out (so far):

  • Thursday, July 3, 2025
  • Thursday, July 17, 2025
  • Thursday, July 31, 2025
  • Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025
  • Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025
  • Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025

Want to check out more summer events in the area? Every week in July and August, there will be a slew of free and low-cost events ranging from free concerts and a community water fight at the Willoughby Community Park Amphitheatre, the all-new Langley Community Farmer’s Market on Thursday evenings, foam parties and live DJs at Lynn Fripps and Philip Jackman Parks, and outdoor movies at parks across the Township.

Before you visit

Before you head to Aldergrove Community Centre, there are a few things you should know. Advanced online registration is required for all summer events, including those who don’t intend to swim during their visit.

The waterpark permits personal beach umbrellas (no larger than 4′ by 6′), but does not allow personal water toys such as tubes or mats.

Lounge chairs and picnic tables are first-come, first-served, and guests are encouraged to bring their own collapsible lawn chairs.

Note that children under seven years old must be under direct supervision at all times, in and out of the water.

Finally, the 25-metre pool, diving boards, and rope swing will not be available due to the required lap pool resurfacing project.

From Friday, June 27 to Sept. 1, 2025, the waterpark will operate at the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m.
  • Friday to Sunday: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1:30 to 4 p.m., and 5 to 7:30 p.m.

When: Opens for the season on Friday, June 27, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1:30 to 4 p.m., and 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday
Where: 27032 Fraser Hwy., Langley
Cost: $10.75 per adult, $6.80 for youth aged 13 to 18, $5.30 per child, and free for children aged up to three years old
