The ‘nicest town around’ in Ontario is home to a cow monument

Did you know Ontario is home to “the nicest town around”? You read that right! Explore the charming town of Chesley, known for its quaint downtown destination, nature trails, stunning natural beauty, and a huge bull statue… Here’s what to know about this self-proclaimed nice town in Ontario.

Located in Bruce Country, about two hours north of Toronto, is Chesley, Ont. It’s a short drive away from Port Elgin and Sauble Beach.

Next Stop: Chesley, Ont.

A visit to Chesley is an adventure! Sightsee along the Saugeen River through nature trails, do some local shopping, enjoy an evening dinner, and explore outdoor experiences, according to Visit Chesley.

Although its local shops are definitely worth exploring, a picture with its massive 15-foot-tall bull is a must.

Big Bruce

Playfully named Big Bruce, the massive bull monument is a pretty big celebrity when people come to town, as many pay it a visit to snap some pics.

But for scenic outdoor adventures, head along the Chesley Heritage Trail. This walk follows the North Saugeen River and rail line through Chesley.

It connects to some of its most important historical sites. Per Visit Chesley, there are two bridges that offer scenic views of the river.

It’s a picture-perfect experience. And especially something to do this season.
