Ree Drummond is keeping it real with fans as she navigates life as a first-time grandmother.
Well before her eldest daughter, Alex, welcomed baby Sofia last month, the Food Network star has shared detailed updates and glimpses into their life as a growing family. From the baby announcement to Alex’s baby shower and prep for the nursery, fans got a peek at it all–including Sofia’s birth!

In the few weeks since the baby was worn, The Pioneer Woman has continued to gush over the new addition, sharing several photos with fans online. On Tuesday, the new Grandma was back to bragging about little Sofia–but this time, with a bit of sarcasm regarding her new role.
“Home is where Sofia is.😭❤️,” she gushed in the caption of her Dec. 31 Instagram upload, which showed her cradling the newborn before a decorated Christmas tree. “I need a vehicle with better gas mileage. 😂,” she quipped.

“(PS she loves the twinkly lights.),” the cookbook author added before wrapping up with one last joke and a shout-out to Alex’s dog, “Dog hair cameo by Georgie.”
“Sofia loves grandma ReeRee,” Alex wrote back, teasing her daughter’s nickname for the TV personality before adding, “So do her parents when you help with the night shift duties).”
Fans couldn’t get enough of the sweet video, with hopes of enabling the doting grandmother to share more.
