Pokémon turns 30 this year, and The Pokémon Company is celebrating that milestone in all number of ways, including creating a special 30th anniversary logo for every individual Pokémon. That’s right, all 1,000+ of them, including regional forms and Paradox Pokémon.
Like the main 30th anniversary logo featuring Pikachu, all the individual logos feature the Pokémon on the right, with the Poké Ball-like zero, while the three in 30 is color-coded to complement the Pokémon. Joe Merrick over at Serebii has been cataloging them all, and you can head over to the site to take a gander at the many, many logos.
The Poké Times X account shared an image featuring the Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle logos. Poké Times will send a random logo to anyone who shares that image, like this user who was sent a Koffing. The logos have also popped up in different cities around Japan, like in the Osaka Namba Station, as captured by a fan on X.
The Pokémon Company has only just begun its marketing push for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. Lady Gaga and Jigglypuff sang together during a Super Bowl ad, a Japanese hotel chain is touting Pokémon-decorated Pokémon rooms, and Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were just revealed to be coming to Nintendo Switch. And that’s all before the Pokémon Presents stream, which takes place Feb. 27. We don’t know yet what will be revealed during that stream, but don’t be surprised if the next generation of games is teased among other reveals.
Polygon is also celebrating 30 years of Pokémon over the next couple of weeks. Things kicked off with a ranking of every Pokémon generation from worst to first. Surely, no feathers will be ruffled!
