Son Ye Jin, Ji Chang Wook, and Nana will lead Netflix’s television adaptation of Untold Scandal. The eight-part series, The Scandal, will be released on Netflix in Q3 2026.
The Scandal is an upcoming South Korean Netflix Original romantic drama series based on the 2003 film Untold Scandal. Jung Ji Woo (Somebody) is directing.

What is the plot of The Scandal?
Netflix has provided a detailed synopsis for the K-drama
As the series is a television adaptation of the film Untold Scandal, we’d expect the plot of the series to follow the same story, which is
“The Scandal depicts the daring and dangerous love game between Lady Cho, a woman whose exceptional skills far exceed the confines of the women’s quarters, and Cho Won, the greatest playboy of Joseon. Their risky bet ensnares another woman, Hui-yeon, who becomes entangled in their escalating deceit. Based on the 2003 film Untold Scandal, this series tells a story steeped in forbidden love and irresistible seduction in an era when such passions were not permitted. Directed by Jung Ji-woo, who never ceases to surprise the audience with a genre-spanning oeuvre including (Tune in for Love, Eungyo, Happy End, Somebody), The Scandal boasts a star-studded cast: Son Ye-jin (Crash Landing on You, Something in the Rain, No Other Choice), taking on the role of Lady Cho; Ji Chang-wook (The Sound of Magic, Revolver) portrays Cho Won, the greatest playboy of Joseon who seeks pleasure and excitement; and NANA (Mask Girl, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy) plays Hui-yeon, a widowed and chaste noblewoman drawn into their game.”
Who are the cast members of The Scandal?
Son Ye Jin starred in the incredibly popular rom-com Crash Landing on You. Other K-dramas on Netflix starring Son Ye Jin are Something in the Rain and Thirty-Nine. It’s been over two years since Thirty-Nine, and by the time Scandal lands on Netflix, it will have been four years since the actress was seen in a K-drama series. Son Ye Jin would play the role of Lady Cho.
Subscribers and fans of Son Ye Jin will also get to see the actress in action in the upcoming Netflix K-drama, Variety.

Ji Chang Wook was last seen on Netflix in the K-drama Welcome to Samdal-ri. He also starred in The Sound of Magic, Lovestruck in the City, and Backstreet Rookie. 2024 and 2025 are already shaping up to be busy years for the actor who will star in K-dramas such as Twelve, Fabricated City, and Gangnam B-Side. Ji Chang Wook would play the role of Jo Won.

Han Sun Hwa has been confirmed to join the cast of Scandal. The actress has yet to star in a Netflix project and is most well known for her leading roles in K-dramas such as Work Later Drink Now, Undercover, School 2017, and My Sweet Mobster.

Chani has also confirmed to play the supporting role of Kwon In Ho, and Han Sun Hwa has been cast in an unconfirmed role.
