The Shepherd Mayfair has released images of its guest rooms and suites in advance of its scheduled opening in summer 2026 in London’s Shepherd Market area.
The Shepherd Mayfair has provided a preview of its rooms and suites ahead of its planned opening in summer 2026. The property, located at the entrance to Shepherd Market in London, will feature 82 guest rooms and suites across six floors, spanning 33,600 square feet. The hotel is part of the Elegant Hotel Collection.
Interior design was led by Timothy Shepherd of Shepherd&, with the original concept developed during his tenure as Managing Director at Buckley Gray Yeoman ID. The design was realized through Shepherd&’s ongoing involvement with the project.
Accommodation options include Standard and Superior Rooms, as well as larger Shepherd Suites and Mayfair Suites. Room rates will start from £500 per night. The rooms are individually configured, reflecting the building’s townhouse origins, with layouts shaped by the proportions of each space. Several rooms include window seats with views of Shepherd Market and Mayfair.
The interiors feature timber finishes, light-toned palettes, curved upholstery, blue detailing, and red velvet curtains. Circulation spaces are described as darker and more atmospheric. References to British craftsmanship are present throughout the property.
Rooms are equipped with adaptable furniture and integrated storage. Desks are designed to convert into dressing tables, and console tables can be used as chessboards. Each desk includes a classic banker’s lamp and a discreet integrated safe. Bathrooms are finished in marble and stocked with Floris amenities, packaged specifically for The Shepherd Mayfair. Selected rooms offer baths and separate seating areas.
Corridors display a curated collection of artworks by British photographer Jack English, with many pieces shown publicly for the first time, alongside works by fine art photographer George McLeod.
The hotel occupies a freehold site, and the architectural concept draws inspiration from eighteenth and early nineteenth-century Mayfair mansions. The design incorporates references to local personalities and includes Braille and Morse elements that reference the area’s wartime intelligence history and Down Street station.
The Shepherd Mayfair is scheduled to open to guests in summer 2026.
