Photography is an impressive skill, but mastering the art of capturing eye-catching images which balance form, perspective, colour and atmosphere with only minimal years of experience under your belt is a whole ‘nother level.
That’s why the shortlisted Student and Youth competition images for the 19th Sony World Photography Awards are so jaw-droppingly good. The Student category saw more than 430,000 entries from 200 countries submitted, all responding to the theme of ‘together’; while the Youth category has selected 10 single image submissions from photographers aged 19 or younger.
The overall winners of each competition will be announced on April 16, and the Sony World Photography Awards 2026 exhibition will be at London’s Somerset House, from April 17-May 4 2026. Scroll on for a selection of our favourite snaps.
Did you see that these are officially the world’s top universities for each subject in 2026?
