The top summer festivals to check out in Toronto this August

29 July 20254 Mins Read

July had a whirlwind of street festivals and cultural gatherings. Thankfully for Toronto, the fun continues right into August. The streets come alive with the best entertainment, music, and a whole lot of food. We visit these outdoor festivals every single year, but sometimes there’s SO much going on that we can lose track. That’s why I’ve put together a little list of festivals that might help organize your month.

From popular street festivals to outdoor parties, here’s a taste of what’s going on in Toronto this month.

Must-attend Toronto summer festivals this August

  • Toronto Caribbean Carnival – July 31 to Aug. 4, 2025
    • Now in its 57th year, the Toronto Caribbean Carnival is one of North America’s largest cultural festivals, celebrating Caribbean culture, heritage, and artistry with vibrant energy.
  • Veld 2025 – Aug. 1 to 3, 2025
    • Veld is almost here, and soon, thousands of EDM fans will be heading to Toronto’s Downsview Park for one of the biggest music weekends of the summer. The three-day festival is back this August with massive international acts, booming beats, and unforgettable energy.
  • Toronto Food Truck Festival – Aug. 1 to 4, 2025
    • Woodbine Park welcomes another year of the Toronto Food Truck Festival, serving up some delicious eats. Admission is free and you’ll get to enjoy some of the best local talent, participate in live-eating challenges and enjoy a cold beer.
  • Taste of India – Aug. 2 and 3, 2025
    • Indulge in the flavours of South Asia at Taste of India this August. It’s all going down at Nathan Phillips Square.
  • Island Vibes – Aug. 2 and 3, 2025
    • This harbourfront festival is inspired by the many different flavours of the islands. Celebrate the rhythms, flavours and ambiance of the Caribbean at this two-day festival.
  • Ghanafest – Aug. 3, 2025
    • Expect traditional food, music, dance, and cultural showcases. The event also features a fashion show, language lessons, and performances by local and international artists.
  • Toronto Waterfront Night Market –  Aug. 8 to 10, 2025
    • According to The Toronto Waterfront Night Market, the festival is “designed to emulate the traditional street-styled night markets of Asia; anchored by the Signature Pan-Asian Food Festival, featuring Wine & Wok, and Illuminasian Lantern Experience, accompanied by nightly live entertainment and cultural performances.”
  • Jerkfest – Aug. 8 to Aug. 18, 2025
    • Jerkfest is back, Toronto. The annual festival celebrating Caribbean food, music, art, and community will return this summer
  • CNE – Aug. 15 to Sept. 1, 2025
    • Toronto’s beloved massive fair marks the end of summer — the CNE is back this August. Hop on rides, enjoy performances, do some shopping and eat delicious food creations.
  • Taste of Manila – Aug. 16 and 17, 2025
    • Back bigger and better than ever! Taste of Manila will bring the flavours of the Philippines to the North York community.
  • Afro-Carib Festival – Aug. 23 and 24, 2025

And we’re sure there’s so much more to enjoy, you just have to go out and find it! Get ready for a jam-packed month full of culture, music, food, and unforgettable moments waiting to be made. Now, the only question is which of these incredible events will make it onto your calendar this year?

Make the most of this wonderful month.
