The Toronto Group Chat: What your friends are talking about this week (March 11)

11 March 20264 Mins Read

Welcome to the Toronto Group Chat, your weekly rundown of the city’s biggest and hottest updates. Here you’ll find all the stuff you actually want to share in your group chat. Every week, we’re dishing out five must-know highlights of what’s going on in the city. Maybe people are already talking about it, or maybe you’ll start the conversation? Inform your group!

Check out what’s new in Toronto. Let’s get into it!

Did you hear, Toronto?

Ronaldinho is coming to Toronto

Ronaldinho, a literal living soccer legend, is coming to Toronto this spring. Can you believe it? Toronto is hosting this inaugural Living Legends match at BMO Field on May 8, 2026.

You can get tickets to see Brazil Legends facing off against Toronto FC legends for one night. Adriano, Emerson and Maicon for Brazil Legends, and Sebastian Giovinco, Jozy Altidore, Julian de Guzman and Dwayne De Rosario will rep Toronto FC legends.

Tickets start at $45, and pre-sale starts on March 11, 2026. I don’t know about you, but I’m getting my tickets ASAP.

Matcha walks are so back

Is that “matcha latte and quarter zip” trend still a thing? The weather in Toronto has been so nice lately, maybe we can finally ditch our jackets… for now. The Weather Network says we’re in for some good weather these next few days, and by “good weather,” I mean anything above 0°C. But it will be a rainy one, though.

That’s okay, a little rain is not going to stop us from our matcha walks. If you’re looking for a new spot to try or want to support local, here are a few coffee shops worth checking out:

Côté de Boeuf just got a sister restaurant

You know that really delicious French spot on Ossington, Côté de Boeuf? It just opened a sister location, Brasserie Côte, at 400 Bloor St. W.

Right now, it’s only taking walk-ins. Since it literally just opened a few days ago, it’s operating on limited hours. It’s open Thursday to Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Are you down to check it out this weekend?

Canada’s largest, all-day St. Patrick’s Day party is coming back to the city next week

Who’s down for some St. Paddy’s Day fun?

Guinness SPD will host thousands of St. Patrick’s Day partyers at Rebel Nightclub on March 14, 2026, from 1:30 to 7 p.m.

It’s about to be huge! It’ll have live bands, Irish fiddlers and traditional Irish dancers, DJs, games, photo booths, and even a free pancake breakfast. And that’s just some of the fun to expect.

We’re talking DJ rooms, life-size beer pong, and even an airbrush tattoo artist because maybe a day of drinking and dancing should not include that much commitment.

You need to get your tickets ASAP!

Mandy’s Salads is opening a new spot, and it’s hiring

On March 13 and 14, Mandy’s The Well location is hosting a job fair, looking to hire people for positions in the kitchen and front-of-house.

This is your chance to meet the team and learn more about the brand’s culture. Who knows, maybe you’ll secure a position on the spot! Wishful thinking.

The job fair is for the salad chain’s new spot at the Distillery District, opening sometime this spring. So if you’re looking for a new job in the East End, it doesn’t hurt to start here!

That’s all for now, Toronto. Don’t worry, we’re sure we’ll have more deets to share next week.
