If you’re a Canadian Netflix subscriber with a taste for television history, you’re in for a massive treat this October. While our focus is usually on Netflix UK’s and US’s upcoming slate, we have been alerted that Netflix Canada has lined up a serious blast from the past, licensing a massive slate of iconic American television shows spanning from the 1950s through the 1980s with the hopes that more regions will follow suit later on.
As we’ve been covering over the past few years, licensed content has been making a massive comeback on Netflix. While newer shows continue to dominate the top 10s, there’s an undeniable appetite for comfort watches and retro television. Now, Netflix Canada is leaning heavily into nostalgia for October 2026.
Whether you’re looking for a trip down memory lane, ready for some vintage sci-fi, or want to dive into the golden age of daytime soap operas, this upcoming roster has a little something for everyone.
Here’s a breakdown of all the classic American series headed to Netflix Canada throughout October 2026, which join previously added titles Diagnosis Murder and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, among others.
Coming to Netflix Canada on October 5th
- Gunsmoke (Seasons 1-14) – Kicking off the retro rollout is one of the most legendary Westerns in television history. Running for an incredible two decades, this classic series follows Marshal Matt Dillon as he keeps the peace in the rough-and-tumble frontier town of Dodge City. Coming to Netflix Canada on October 12th
October 12th is the big drop day for classic TV fans, with six iconic shows hitting the Canadian library all at once:
- Bewitched (8 Seasons) –
Elizabeth Montgomery stars as Samantha, a witch who marries a mortal man and tries to live a typical suburban life—often with hilariously magical, disastrous results. It’s one of the most beloved sitcoms of the 1960s. - Charlie’s Angels (5 Seasons) – The original 1970s crime-fighting trio is touching down on Netflix. Follow the iconic private detectives as they take on dangerous undercover assignments for their mysterious, unseen boss, Charlie.
- Dynasty (9 Seasons) – Forget the modern CW reboot; Netflix Canada is bringing you the extravagant, shoulder-pad-wearing, caviar-eating original. This defining 1980s primetime soap opera follows the feuding Carrington and Colby families as they battle for control of their oil empires (and each other).
- The Facts of Life (9 Seasons) – “You take the good, you take the bad…” The beloved Diff’rent Strokes spin-off centers on Edna Garrett as she becomes a housemother at a prestigious all-girls boarding school in New York.
- The Love Boat (9 Seasons) – Come aboard, we’re expecting you! The classic romantic comedy-drama series set on the MS Pacific Princess will be docking on Netflix Canada, bringing all of its famous guest stars and intertwining romantic storylines with it.
- The Twilight Zone (5 Seasons) – Rod Serling’s ultimate sci-fi anthology series remains just as chilling and thought-provoking today as it was when it premiered. Prepare to enter another dimension of sound, sight, and mind just in time for Halloween viewing.
Coming to Netflix Canada on October 26th
Soap opera fans, clear your schedules. To round out the month, Netflix Canada is picking up two of the most enduring daytime dramas in television history. (While we don’t know exactly which blocks of episodes Netflix will be streaming just yet, both of these shows have massive, decades-spanning histories to pull from!)
- Days of our Lives (Seasons TBD) – Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of our Lives. Dive into the intense drama, romances, and outrageous twists of the residents of Salem. (The soap is currently heading into its 62nd season!)
- The Young and the Restless (Seasons TBD) – Head to Genoa City for the fierce corporate rivalries and tangled love lives of the Newman and Abbott families. (This daytime titan is kicking off its 54th season this October!)
