The Wildbirch Hotel, a new property under the JdV by Hyatt brand, has officially opened in downtown Anchorage, Alaska.
Located in the Mushing District, The Wildbirch Hotel opened on June 12, 2025, marking the introduction of the JdV by Hyatt brand in Alaska. This hotel features 252 guest rooms and is positioned on West Fourth Avenue, a central area known for shopping, dining, and cultural activities.
The property includes various amenities aimed at both tourists and local residents. These include an outdoor deck with fire pits, on-site dining options, and a significant 5,200 square feet of space dedicated to meetings and events. The hotel’s design and facilities emphasize community engagement and serve as a base for visitors exploring Alaska.
Dining options at The Wildbirch Hotel include Crimson, a restaurant led by Executive Chef La Mont Caldwell. The menu combines local Alaskan ingredients with Pan-American Latin influences. The restaurant features indoor and seasonal outdoor seating and a private dining area for up to 16 guests. Additionally, the hotel houses Canteen Coffee Co. in its lobby, providing coffee, fresh juices, and grab-and-go food, accessible via a walk-up window from the street.
Scheduled to open in the fall, The Undertap will offer a selection of craft beers in collaboration with Midnight Sun Brewing Co. This venue will also include a space for private events and meetings.
The Wildbirch Hotel is part of a broader effort to revitalize downtown Anchorage, led by co-owners Mark Begich and Sheldon Fisher through their company, MASH, LLC. Springboard Hospitality, a company known for operating boutique lifestyle hotels, manages the hotel.
