The World’s Cheapest Countries To Travel To In 2025, Canada Reviews

12 March 20252 Mins Read

When it comes to travel, budget is often the thing which holds us back from planning that big exciting trip, however, there are plenty of destinations all over the world where your money will stretch a little further than you might expect.

Price comparison site HelloSafe has just conducted a study which evaluated the average daily spend needed per traveller across a whopping 131 countries, including accommodation, food and transport. It’s worth noting the price of getting to the destination is not included – we could all be flying in from different directions anyway.

So, where in the world is the most budget friendly, day to day? That would be Laos, the only landlocked nation in Southeast Asia which is nestled between Myanmar, China, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. According to the study, your daily spend here could be as little as £12.30 (that’s €14.60 or $16). We’re heavy on the ‘could’ here.

In second place was Kazakhstan, with an average daily spend of £15.10, and in third place was Rwanda, at around £16. Elsewhere on the list you’ll find destinations like Georgia, which is home to one of our top picks for a city break this year, and Armenia, which was recently named as the best adventure destination for 2025.

These are the 15 cheapest countries in the world to travel to in 2025

  1. Laos
  2. Kazakhstan
  3. Rwanda
  4. Ghana
  5. Mongolia
  6. Armenia
  7. Burkina Faso
  8. Georgia
  9. Mali
  10. Myanmar
  11. Cuba
  12. Moldova
  13. India
  14. Malawi
  15. Nepal
