There will be a sunset under the Gardiner in Toronto and it’s not what you think

9 October 20252 Mins Read

If you thought sunsets were best enjoyed at the beach, by the cottage or on a rooftop patio, think again. Get ready for one of the most unforgettable sunset experiences in Toronto, and it’s all happening under the Gardiner.

Make your way to The Bentway from Oct. 16 to 19 for a one-of-a-kind experience. SOLAR will transform the city’s concrete underpass into a radiant art experience — a large-scale installation by world-renowned Italian artist Quayola

A robotic take on the Toronto sunset

Fresh off a headlining appearance at Rome’s Videocittà festival, Quayola is bringing their mesmerizing mix of robotics, light, and sound to Toronto.

SOLAR reimagines the sunset through technology, casting stunning beams of light that move in perfect harmony all under the Gardiner.

This display is created by a robotic arm that sweeps across the space, directing hundreds of choreographed light beams that dance and glow in sync with a cinematic soundscape.

Choose how to glow

Tickets to SOLAR are pay-what-you-want, making them accessible to everyone. If you’d rather skip the wait and head straight into the glow, these tickets are available online for $25.

The Bentway has seen everything from roller rinks to art markets, and this addition continues its tradition of transforming this urban space into a playground for creativity.

SOLAR

When: Oct. 16 to 19, 2025
Time: 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: The Bentway
Cost: $10+
