There’s a beautiful soft-sand beach halfway between Alberta’s biggest cities

3 June 20252 Mins Read

Temperatures are on the rise, and it’s only a matter of time until you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city.

This summer, pack your shades, grab a couple of road snacks, press play on your sunny day playlist, and head to Ebeling Beach in Alberta.

An Alberta gem

Located along the shores of Gull Lake, this stunning destination boasts clean water and soft sand.

Whether you’re looking for an adventure or just want to catch a few rays, Ebeling should definitely make your hitlist.

Here, you’re in for a fun-filled day surrounded by like-minded experience seekers, but don’t let that deter you. This beach might be known as one of the busiest in Central Alberta, but for good reason.

Not only can you go for a swim, you can also have a picnic, hit up the concession, or sit by the fire and roast hot dogs or s’mores.

The only downside? This place does fill up pretty quickly on exceptional days, and parking spots are limited.

Once they’re full, the gates close, so plan ahead, arrive early, and have a fallback idea.

What else can you do in the area?

Luckily, backup plans won’t be all that difficult to make thanks to the lake’s close proximity to several other things to do and see.

If all else fails, hit the Gull Lake Golf Course, book a retreat and connect with nature at Camp L.G. Barns, or hit the Gull Lake Honey Company and shop locally made products.

There’s really no shortage of incredible things to enjoy, so start looking ahead to June 26 when the day-use area finally reopens.

There are few places quite like this incredible area, but as always, please remember to check for any advisories before visiting.

Happy swimming!

You’re in for a wonderful summer.
