Small town adventures are a must this summer, especially if you can do it all in one day. Lucky for you, we’ve got just the place! Known for its famous waterfall and riverside boardwalks. Here’s what to know about Napanee, Ont.
Exploring the county
Lennox and Addington County is known for its beautiful lakeside views, nature scenes, and historic buildings. And it’s also home to the wonderful town of Napanee.
It’s about a two-hour drive east of Toronto, and according to Destination Ontario, it is considered “the heart of Lennox and Addington County.”
Napanee is home to beautiful parks, a bustling downtown core, and an exciting waterfront.
Once you step foot in the town, you’ll be mesmerized by its small-town feel. And since it’s not too far away from major cities, it serves as a great day escape whenever you feel like going for a drive.
Sightseeing in Napanee
While you’re here, make a stop at Springfield Park, where you’ll find the Springside Park Falls and the Napanee River.
“Napanee Falls cascade for tens of metres, giving viewers a mesmerizing look at the sheer power of water,” shares Naturally L&A.
You can embark on a scenic fall walk along a fully accessible path that leads to Conservation Park.
According to the site, the Napanee River is “one of only two places in the world that experiences ‘seiche’, tidal changes of anywhere from six to 16 inches due to winds that blow southwest along Lake Ontario.”
Now that’s what we call a fun fact.
Whether Napanee serves as a pit stop to your next destination or you’re on a small-town adventure, exploring the sights of Ontario, you’re in for a great time.
Your next day trip out of the city is set. We’ll meet you there!
