Horizon Drive-In is back at the Edmonton Valley Zoo this week for two more nights of outdoor movie magic.
Last month, Edmonton Valley hosted four different drive-in movies across two days, all thanks to Horizon Drive-In. After the success of the first two days in July, the team decided to bring back more action for August. This week, you can get ready to drive on down, grab a ticket, and enjoy a movie from the sanctity of your own vehicle.
In partnership with the Valley Zoo Development Society, a portion of every ticket sold will go directly toward helping build and enhance the future of the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Every ticket purchased helps support the incredible conservation, education, and animal care initiatives right here within the community.
What to expect at Horizon Drive-In
On Thursday, Aug. 13, and Friday, Aug. 14, there will be four movies shown over the course of these two nights. Of course, the nights will be split up with two movies each, one showing at 10 p.m. and one at 11:45 p.m.
Footloose will kick off the movie week, being the first showing at 10 p.m. on Thursday. Following that will be 21 Jump Street, which will command the screen at 11:45 pm. If you’re ready for a lot of laughs, we couldn’t recommend seeing this more.
The next night brings what we think is the greatest double feature of all time. Starting with The Greatest Showman and going into IT, Friday will be an absolute whirlwind of a good time, and we couldn’t be more excited for it.
What to know ahead of Horizon Drive-In
Tickets for drivers are $15, with each additional passenger needing a ticket as well (also for $15). Children aged 15 and under will be able to get tickets for $10.
Feeling hungry? Concessions will be available on-site with cash, debit, and credit accepted. If you want to skip the line, you’ll be able to pre-order your snacks online and use the express pickup lane for faster service.
Also, parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis within designated parking areas that will be based on vehicle type. It’s not going to be a free-for-all, so to ensure a smooth arrival experience, the team behind the drive-in recommends arriving approximately 30 to 45 minutes before your showtime.
