Ramadan is nearly here, beginning on Feb. 28, 2025, until March 29, 2025. According to Stats Canada, Ramadan is “one of the five pillars of Islam, taking place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar to commemorate the revelation of the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad.”
Observed worldwide, Ramadan is a month that includes fasting from sunrise to sunset, religious reflection, family get-togethers and celebrations. In the GTA, there’s a massive gathering running for five days between the start and end of Ramadan.
The GTA Ramadan Festival will include live performances, food, vendors and more.
Here’s what to know before you go!
The festival will run from March 15 to 16 and again from March 28 to 30 at the Red Rose Convention Centre. Tickets to the festivities are free through registration, which is open now to the public.
Each day, the doors will open from noon until 10 p.m.
Last year’s festival included also 30 thousand tickets sold and over 40 vendors, with this year’s festivities slated to be even bigger. According to the event page, “GTA Ramadan Festival is going to be the go-to place for you as we bring delicious treats from amazing vendors, all under one roof.”
The shopping bazaar will include luxury, desi and party wear, henna, jewelry, perfumes, and more.
Have a happy Ramadan, Toronto!
