There’s a new nonstop flight between Calgary and Panamá

22 July 20252 Mins Read

If you’ve ever wanted to visit Panamá from Calgary, it just got a whole lot more convenient.

WestJet has announced a new nonstop route between Cowtown and the tropical destination bordered by Costa Rica in the north and Colombia in the south.

Direct flights from Calgary International Airport to Tocumen International Airport started accepting bookings on July 14, 2025. With flights leaving four times per week, there are plenty of flexible options available.

But hurry to take advantage of this limited-time offer — it’ll only be available from Dec. 13, 2025, to April 25, 2026.

At the crossroads of North and South America, Panamá boasts fast-paced cosmopolitan cities, traditional Indigenous culture, vivid architectural history, and stunning natural views.

Outdoorsy and metropolitan types alike will revel in the beauty of Panamá City, the only capital in the world with a tropical rainforest and two UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Of course, the world-famous Panamá Canal is also a must-see destination. The canal uses a system of locks that function as water lifts, which you can admire alongside the Spanish colonial architecture of Panama City’s historic Casco Viejo.

Made for adventure

Panamá is a small country made for adventure. Visiting could see you waking up to the Pacific Ocean breeze and enjoying delicious cuisine while overlooking the Caribbean Sea, all on the same day.

On the sandy shores of Panamá, sea turtles thrive and coffee farms cultivate some of the best cups of joe in the world.

You’ll feel like you’re in a tropical paradise as you gaze at pristine waterfalls, snorkel under the sea, and lose yourself in underwater coral reef ecosystems.

Travel requirements

In order to vacation in this stunning destination, there are a few requirements. You’ll need a valid passport with at least six months of validity, a return ticket back to Calgary or another destination, a few recommended vaccines, and a minimum economic solvency of US$500 (about C$700).

With WestJet accepting bookings from now until Dec. 13, it’s the perfect time to plan your next getaway. Bon voyage!
