Drive-in movie season isn’t over just yet, because Spook and Screen is coming to Edmonton this October, and it’s bringing all the seasonal spooks to the screen.
Spook and Screen is a one-night drive-in movie event being held at Lake Summerside in Edmonton. There will be two films (one family-friendly, one a little bit more frightening), alongside food trucks, wandering characters, and so much more to enjoy.
For those looking to enjoy this upcoming double feature, look no further. We’ve got all the details to make this upcoming drive-in movie night as thrilling as possible.
What to expect at Spook and Screen
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the event will run from 3 to 11 p.m.
Once you arrive, there will be food trucks serving up some delicious treats, spooky characters roaming the grounds, and the perfect cozy atmosphere for watching a movie under the stars.
As for the films, the two picks were chosen through polls on the organizer’s social media. The ones chosen were:
- Hotel Transylvania at 4 p.m. (gates open at 3:15 p.m)
- Us at 7:30 p.m. (gates open at 6:45 p.m)
Guests are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes early to their showtime.
Though it’s technically a drive-in movie night, you don’t need a vehicle. You can either enjoy the movie from your own vehicle or bring your blankets and chairs to enjoy the movie outside.
How much are tickets?
There are two options for movie-goers: drive-in car tickets and walk-up tickets.
The classic drive-in car tickets are $20 plus taxes and fees, covering everyone in the car. For those planning to attend both movies, the event page says you can let staff know upon arrival to remain parked and get checked in again for the second feature.
Walk-up tickets are also available for $15 plus taxes and fees, covering up to five people per ticket. With this, you can bring your own chairs and blankets to get comfortable and enjoy the movie outside a vehicle.
Tickets can be purchased online or in person, with limited spots available.
If you’re looking for the perfect event for a good fall fright, this is definitely one to add to the list. So, mark your calendars for this Saturday double-feature, because you won’t want to miss this.

Time: 3 to 11 p.m.
