Start sharpening those ice skates because there’s a wonderful ice skating trail in Ontario opening soon. Glide along a natural ice trail that winds past almost 100 acres of natural woods, illuminated by twinkling string lights. Here’s what to know about Icelynd Skating Trails.
This icy gem is located in Stittsville, Ont., just minutes away from Ottawa. The Icelynd Skating Trails spans over two kilometres and glistens under the moonlight in the evenings.
What to know
“For a truly magical experience, Icelynd will be open in the evenings amongst the stars, and illuminated by charming twinkling white string lights, and natural solar lighting throughout,” shares the team.
Though a nighttime skate sounds like enough of a treat, there will be bonfires, vendors, benches, and chairs to rest after your skating adventure.
If this sounds like an adventure meant for you, start planning your trip for 2026.
Although it may feel horribly cold out there, the temperatures are not yet right. According to its booking site, the first date for its ice trail is Dec. 20, 2025. Typically, Icelynd opens for the season in January, though.
We’ve reached out to the team for set opening dates, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated once we know more.
