There’s an Ontario parkway connecting 11 islands that offers a picturesque fall drive

9 October 20252 Mins Read

Your upcoming fall road trip is about to be epic! The Long Sault Parkway is a winding road in Ontario that connects a series of 11 islands, and this time of the year, the views are spectacular. But you’re going to want to plan your trip to Long Sault ASAP, as it typically closes for the season in mid-November.

The Long Sault Parkway is east of Kingston, nestled along the St. Lawrence River between Cornwall and Brockville.

The drive from Toronto will take you four and a half hours, but the views are well worth the trip along the 10 km road through the 11 islands.

According to Parks of the St. Lawrence, the parkway is “a series of 11 islands created from high points of land left after the flooding of the St. Lawrence River during the construction of the Seaway in the 1950s.”

There are over 600 campsites that can be booked for scenic overnight stays but you’ll have to act quickly as most campsites close before November.

Want to get even closer to the action? Winding bike paths and pristine nature trails allow you to bike along the parkway if you prefer.

All that’s left to do is decide which road trip snacks you’re packing! Oh, and don’t forget to snap some photos.

Enjoy the adventure, Ontario.
