It’s time to plan a night out! These Toronto bars, offering upscale cocktails and dreamy decor, were just named among the best in North America for 2025.
The 50 Best just released its list of North America’s 50 Best Bars 2025, and several Toronto locations made the cut.
The annual ranking features venues across the continent, from hidden beachside gems to vibrant city bars.
Four Toronto bars earned a spot on the list, each offering a unique cocktail experience worth a visit.
Coming in at number 7 (and the highest-ranked Canadian bar) is Bar Pompette. According to 50 Best, the venue boasts “classic French character and neighbourhood bistro feel,” and is ” something of a sanctuary in Toronto’s busy Little Italy.”
The cocktails include seasonal ingredients farmed and foraged in Toronto’s greenbelt, creating a uniquely local sipping experience.
Next, at number 21 is Civil Liberties, a retro-style spot with no set menu. The bartenders craft custom cocktails based entirely on your preferences.
Bar Mordecai earned a spot at number 37. The romantic venue is perfect for date night and feels “like a vintage hotel lobby from a Wes Anderson movie.”
Mother ranked 44th. According to 50 Best, crowds “flock to this dark and intimate space to bask in the candlelight, groove to an artfully curated funk soundtrack and drink in the truly impressive showmanship behind the bar.” The menu features zero-proof options, classic cocktails, and specialty drinks.
Two Toronto bars also received special recognition. Bar Pompette won the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award 2025 for its standout service, while Civil Works took home the Siete Misterios Best Cocktail Menu Award 2025 for its “playful and profoundly delicious cocktails steeped in Toronto history.”
Next time you’re thirsty, head to one of these top Toronto bars.
