The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is hiring students to work all over the city.
If you’re a student, you can get TTC jobs in admin, customer service, maintenance, and more departments.
These high-paying jobs offer up to $23 an hour which is higher than Ontario’s minimum wage of $17.20 an hour.
To be considered for TTC’s 2025 Summer Student Program, you must be:
- available to work from May 5, 2025, to August 22, 2025
- eligible to work in Canada
- a full-time student enrolled in the Winter 2025 academic term at a registered Canadian post-secondary institution
You also must be flexible and able to do shift work because most positions involve working various shifts — like morning, afternoon, or night — along with weekends and holidays.
The last day to apply for TTC student jobs is January 26, 2025.
So, here are the positions that are available with the transit commission students.
Admin & Customer Service
Salary: $17.85 to $22.22 an hour
Who Should Apply: Administrative and Customer Service jobs include Customer Service Centre Clerk, Operating Clerk, Senior Operating Clerk, Capital Clerk, and Fare Collector.
These are the general requirements you need to meet for the admin and customer service positions:
- ability to handle customer inquiries, provide solutions and direct any questions to appropriate contacts
- oral and written communication skills
- organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- understanding of TTC resources to provide solutions
- knowledge of modern office methods, procedures, practices and equipment
- knowledge of computers, proficiency in computer apps and keyboarding skills

Maintenance
Salary: $17.64 to $23.36 an hour
Who Should Apply: Maintenance jobs include Carhouse Helper, Surface Janitor, Subway Janitor, Surface Janitor (Wheel-Trans), End Terminal Cleaner, Escalator Mechanic, Electrical Helper, Upholstery Helper and Landscaper.
You need to meet these general requirements for maintenance jobs:
- ability to efficiently use cleaning methods and equipment to maintain the cleanliness and safety of TTC locations, equipment and more
- ability to work in dirty, dusty, noisy, and wet conditions
- ability to handle customer inquiries, provide solutions and direct questions to appropriate contacts
- oral and written communication skills
- organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- understanding of issues and ability to use TTC resources to provide the most appropriate solutions

Who Should Apply: G License jobs require students to have an Ontario G driver’s license for tasks like operating and maintaining TTC vehicles, transporting materials, delivering equipment and more.

These are the general requirements you need to meet for the job:
- valid Ontario G driver’s license
