The adults-only cruise line is officially shifting its base of operations for the remainder of its New York residency, moving across the river as infrastructure upgrades take hold in Manhattan.
Starting April 6, 2026, all sailings for the Valiant Lady will now embark and disembark from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal instead of the traditional Manhattan Cruise Terminal. While the two ports are only about eight miles apart, the change is a crucial one for travelers navigating New York City traffic to make their boarding window.
In an email sent to impacted Sailors and obtained by Cruise Hive, the cruise line was direct about the logistics: “Beginning April 6, 2026, all Virgin Voyages sailings from New York City will now depart from: Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.” The note continued, “We wanted to share an important update about your upcoming voyage.”

The relocation stems from a bit of a “berth” crunch in Manhattan. Pier 90, Virgin’s usual home, is currently offline as part of a massive, multi-year redevelopment project to address structural issues and upgrade the city’s cruise infrastructure. With Pier 92 also closed for repairs and Pier 88 packed with a rotating schedule of other major lines, the Red Drive fleet is heading to Brooklyn to ensure its final New York itineraries can go off without a hitch.

This change impacts three distinct windows of travel: April, September, and October 2026. Notable sailings moving to Brooklyn include the five-night “Big Apple to Bermuda” runs, the highly anticipated “Virgin Voyages Comedy Fest,” and the massive 14-night transatlantic crossing to Spain departing on April 25.
For those looking to catch a Virgin ship from New York, these 2026 dates represent a “last call” of sorts. Following the Valiant Lady’s final departure on October 19, 2026—a 12-night trek to San Juan—the cruise line has no New York sailings listed on its schedule through at least the fall of 2027.
