White Water Walk
According to Niagara Parks, visitors will make their way to an elevator. Here they will go down 70 metres to the base of the Niagara Gorge.
“Prepare to be immediately immersed in the soothing roar of North America’s largest series of standing waves the moment you step out from the exit tunnel,” shares Niagara Parks.
“The roar of the river provides a deceptive calmness, the perfect ambiance for your walk among the many platforms that offer incredible views.”
The boardwalk
As mentioned, the boardwalk stretches 305 meters (1/4 mile). It has stairs leading to several viewing platforms at the edge of the river.
“The sight on this quarter-mile boardwalk will take your breath away! As part of this self-guided experience, enjoy stories about the geology of the Niagara Gorge and the plant and animal life you may see on your visit to Niagara Parks.”
Here you’ll get to see the breathtaking Whirlpool Rapids! They flow at a speed of 48 km/hr. This is your chance to get some of the best photo ops!
Believe it or not, this experience is only 4 km north of Niagara Falls. It’s also easily accessible via the WEGO bus route.
It is also within walking distance of the Niagara Falls Ontario train and bus stations, with free parking available.
