This boutique stay in B.C. was just named one of the world’s best new hotels of 2026

17 April 20263 Mins Read

If you’re looking for remarkable stays to have on your radar, this boutique hotel on Vancouver Island happens to be one of only three in Canada that made it on Travel + Leisure’s prestigious Best New Hotels of 2026 list. Opening in late 2025, Rosemead House in Victoria has quickly made its mark in B.C.’s hospitality scene, defined by its highly personalized service and thoughtful design.

A luxury stay in a historic manor

The boutique hotel is situated within a restored 118-year-old manor just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Victoria, offering guests a curated stay in one of 28 guest rooms, each with its own unique story.

Drawing from visits to more than 200 estate auctions across the U.K., owner Lenny Moy amassed a collection of over 1,500 antiques, integrating them into each and every room.

“Rosemead House was never intended to follow convention,” explains Moy. “It’s a place where history, craftsmanship, and imagination intersect. Every room tells a story, and that sense of discovery is what we wanted guests to experience from the moment they arrive.”

Each of the hotel’s rooms features an Edwardian writing desk, original architectural details, nd layered textiles including William Morris wallpapers, alongside contemporary amenities like heated floors and Duxiana mattresses. The result is a charming stay that’s rooted in history, but doesn’t compromise on modern comforts.

Travel + Leisure calls it a “maximalist-design fever dream,” akin to staying in someone’s private residence rather than a traditional hotel!

Ready to splurge on a night at this luxury stay? Rates start at $319 for residents of B.C., Alberta, and Washington State.

Choosing the 100 Best New Hotels of 2026

Rosemead House is one of just three Canadian stays that made the cut for this year’s list of the 100 Best New Hotels by Travel + Leisure. To create the ranking, Travel + Leisure editors looked at nearly 250 properties across 40 countries across the globe, each of which opened (or unveiled a significant renovation) between February 2025 and February 2026.

From cozy beach resorts to flashy city hotels, the list showcases a variety of options for travellers. The other two Canadian mentions are Huttopia’s newest glamping spot in Quebec’s Laurentides and the Kenrick Hotel in Banff.

You can check out all the new hotels that made the 2026 list at Travel + Leisure’s website.
