This Canada’s Wonderland coaster just got a major upgrade and it opens this week

21 July 20262 Mins Read

Canada’s Wonderland has officially confirmed that its revamped DareDeviler roller coaster will welcome riders this week, ending months of anticipation over the ride’s launch date.

The newly themed ride is scheduled to open on July 23, though some lucky guests could get an earlier ride.

An official statement from Canada’s Wonderland confirms that “the attraction may soft open to guests prior to July 23 as part of operational testing,” with a sign now posted outside the ride cementing the news.

According to a video circulating online, the uncertainty surrounding the launch date stems from Canada’s Wonderland’s DareDeviler not having yet completed its “remaining 300 conditioning cycles.” Once that’s finished, the highly anticipated coaster is expected to welcome riders on board.

DareDeviler, which remained closed when the park opened for the summer 2026 season on May 3, underwent a major overhaul to improve the overall ride experience.

The project breathes new life into a familiar favourite, transforming the former Flight Deck into a new coaster inspired by the early aviation era.

While the coaster’s track remains the same, the experience will definitely feel new and improved. Its redesigned trains are intended to provide a smoother, more comfortable trip while preserving the intense elements that make the coaster a favourite among avid thrill seekers.

And the overhaul extends beyond the ride itself.

Canada’s Wonderland has reimagined the coaster with a new backstory that connects it to the park’s Grande World Expo area, replacing its military-inspired theme with one celebrating aviation pioneers and daredevil performers.

The DareDeviler is one of the park’s biggest transformations for the 2026 season, joining an already stellar lineup of roller coasters that continues to draw guests from across the province.

If operational testing goes as planned, some guests visiting before Thursday may get the chance to be among the first to experience the newly transformed coaster before anyone else.
