Now, it’s no secret Canada is known for a few things including remarkable landscapes, great food and friendly people but turns out we’ve taken on a new accolade.
A new study ranking the most beautiful universities in the world dropped and one Canadian university managed to make the cut.
Immerse Education, a U.K.-based company that provides enriching programs at various global institutions, released its list of the Most Photogenic Universities in the World, and only one Canadian spot appeared in the top 10.
To compile the list, Immerse Education analyzed a seed list of the top universities around the world and ranked them based on the number of Instagram and TikTok posts for each to reveal which ones are the most picturesque.
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) ranked number one, while the University of Oxford, University of California, San Diego, Harvard University and Columbia made up the remainder of the top five.
So, which Canadian university made the cut?
The University of Toronto (UofT) was the only Canadian university to make the list, ranking ninth overall. The Canadian institution has topped best schools lists for years in a row, so it’s no surprise that UofT also found itself among the most beautiful in the world.
While the UofT campus extends all the way to Mississauga it’s truly the St. George Campus in downtown Toronto that stands out. Not to mention it’s one of the oldest in all of Canada, dating back to the nineteenth century. The buildings are comprised of stone edifices, beautifully preserved with gorgeous ivy snaking up their historic walls, almost like a movie set.
