This centuries old hike in Ontario is one of the best places to catch a sunset

9 October 20252 Mins Read

Do yourself a favour this fall and head up to Muskoka to experience one of its most captivating sunset spots, the Huckleberry Rock Lookout Trail. This venture is calling your name, and here’s why you should visit the local gem.

Ready for this adventure? You’ll find the trail in Bracebridge, Ont., about a two and a half hours drive from Toronto.

This beloved trail has been a must-visit for over a century, offering panoramic views of the beautiful Muskoka landscape, according to Discover Muskoka.

Where is Huckleberry Rock Lookout Trail?

You’ll find it situated on 1057 Milford Bay Rd. The Huckleberry Rock Lookout Trail spans more than 120 acres, thanks to land donations from nearby landowners.

It’s marked by white ribbons on trees and rocks so you know exactly where to go. The 2.5 km loop is easy to follow, ensuring that hikers of all levels can enjoy the route with ease.

Besides the awe-inspiring views, the trail itself is a geological wonder.

Some of the rocks along the trail are over a billion years old! But it’s the vista from the lookout that truly steals the show, especially as the sun dips below the horizon, according to Discover Muskoka.

Whether you’re an avid hiker or a casual visitor, Huckleberry Rock Lookout Trail promises unforgettable scenery and a sense of wonder that makes every step worthwhile.

You don’t want to skip out on this iconic Muskoka experience.
