This hidden oasis in Metro Vancouver is the coolest way to destress

8 August 20252 Mins Read

Chaos of city life getting to you? There’s a hidden gem in Metro Vancouver that might be exactly what you need to de-stress.

In recent years, the hot and cold therapy buzz has really hit — and for good reason. Not only does it help us relax, but it offers a range of mental and physical benefits, like stress reduction, increased energy, better circulation, and more. So if you’ve been craving a little reset, why not give it a go?

Located in Surrey, just an hour from downtown Vancouver, Habitat Wellness is an outdoor retreat tucked away in a serene natural setting surrounded by green farmland. It features two Finnish-style dry saunas, four cold plunge tubs at varying temperatures, one warm lounge tub, and four outdoor showers.

There are also covered relaxation areas where you can cozy up by a fire pit, sip on complimentary tea, and breathe in the fresh countryside air.

Each 90-minute session is self-guided, allowing you to move through a rejuvenating cycle of sauna, cold plunge, and rest at your own pace. Most guests begin with 10 to 15 minutes in the sauna, followed by a cool shower and a 30- to 60-second plunge into the cold tub (or just a dip of the toes for first-timers, no judgement!).

Between cycles, you can take a few moments to unwind in the relaxation zones, then repeat the process two to three times, depending on how you feel. Private bookings are also available if you’re after a more personal experience.

Habitat also hosts weekly events like yoga classes, sound baths, women’s night, hybrid fitness-sauna sessions, and more. You can check out the full schedule, prices, or book your visit on the Habitat Wellness website.

Have fun relaxing — you’ve earned it!

Where: 4114 186th St. – Surrey, B.C.
