We recently had the chance to chat with Big Boi about his latest unexpected collaboration—one that truly feels like a match made in heaven.

Staying true to the duo’s legendary career, Big Boi has leveled up once again with a fresh partnership with Whirlpool. Fans of the brand may already be familiar with the new Whirlpool® Smart Front Load Washer with FreshFlow™ Vent System, which is currently available online and in-stores. But now, thanks to this unexpected matchup, fans can get one of five limited-edition machines that feature Big Boi’s signature designs—and even play the classic hit “So Fresh, So Clean” when a load finishes. Intrigued? So were we.
“They wanted the epitome of fresh,” Big Boi explained in response to how the collaboration came about. “They knew they had to come holla at the best! You feel me?” He continued, “I mean, everybody knows the theme to the dream: So Fresh, So Clean. It don’t stop, man!”

Best of all, this sucker was designed by Big Boi himself, which means its matte black finish, thousands of hand-placed crystals around the door and knob, and certified fresh-and-clean badge—each signed by the artist—were all his ideas. And to make sure it was ready for market, Whirlpool even sent one to Big Boi to test out before releasing them to the public. But what Big Boi didn’t expect was how good the tune would sound after each load.
“It sounds amazing,” Big Boi said, “I was expecting to hear ‘ding, ding, ding, ding…(he mimicked a chimed version of the tune “So Fresh, So Clean”), but no, the whole song comes on. My mom was upstairs and heard it too, and she was like, ‘Oh man, that’s cool.’”
