Let’s face it, friends, things are looking a little bleak, but we’re resilient, and if you’re a millennial, we’ve been training for this since birth. We may not know how to save money, but we sure do know how to find it when we need it, and thanks to the pandemic, all of us know how to get crafty if we need to. Garlic powder too expensive? Don’t worry, I’ll make my own. No bread at the grocery store? Psh, my sourdough starter named Gina gives me everything I need. See, we’ve got this.

With the rising costs of everything, though, consumers are looking for cheaper alternatives that promise to provide the same value as what they’re giving up, whether it’s swapping out name brands or finding a replacement for eggs. Speaking of eggs, Easter is fast approaching, and although prices have dropped a bit and the Bird Flu is somewhat under control, some of us are still planning to sit this one out. Unfortunately for the kiddos, that means no decorating eggs this year.
Unless some mystical brand decides to create a fun and unexpected alternative that promises all the fun of dyeing Easter eggs without the insane price tag—thankfully, iconic marshmallow brand Jet Puffed did just that. You might have seen the trend floating around on social media, but if not, in lieu of eggs, some people are dyeing marshmallows this year for a cutesy (and tastier) upgrade on the classic Easter tradition.

The only downside is that going out and buying all the components separately can cost as much as buying the eggs, and we’re going for economically friendly here. To solve the problem, Jet Puffed launched a first-of-its-kind Jet-Puffed Dip & Decorate Marshmallow Kit, and we might not ever go back to dyeing eggs for Easter.
The all-inclusive kit includes everything you need to decorate vibrant, colorful marshmallows, including six food-safe colorings, three pens, two delicious drizzles, an egg crate to store your creations, tongs, and, of course, a pack of Jet Puffed Jumbo Extra-Large Marshmallows. Most importantly, you get all that for the incredible price of just $1.99. Yep, that’s right, folks, $1.99. While it might seem a bit unorthodox, the jumbo marshmallows are about the same size as an egg anyway—and let’s be honest, who’s really eating all those eggs?
Now, while supplies last, you can grab your very own Jet Puffed Decorating kit at Walmart, and while you’re there, make sure to look out for Glen Powell’s new Smash Kitchen sauce line. Who says we don’t know how to be resourceful?
