If you’re looking for a mini getaway this spring, why not add one of the best places to visit in Canada for 2025 to your bucket list? Just a short road trip from Montreal, this quaint and cozy small city has everything from outdoor adventures and mountain views to tasty eats and charming streets straight out of a fairytale.
Located under two hours from Montreal in Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains, Mont-Tremblant has been ranked one of the top travel destinations in Canada by U.S. News & World Report, and it’s not hard to see why.
Coming in at 14th on the list of 15 top destinations, this quaint, European-style city was praised for its world-class skiing — especially at the iconic Mont Tremblant Ski Resort.
The surrounding Parc national du Mont-Tremblant also got a nod for its stunning natural landscape, featuring six rivers, over 400 lakes and streams, and endless hiking trails and sandy beaches.
While Mont-Tremblant might be best known for its snowy slopes, the cozy city also comes alive in the summer. Tucked into the Laurentian Mountains, this charming spot becomes a warm-weather playground with scenic trails, sparkling lakes, and countless outdoor adventures.
Parc national du Mont-Tremblant is perfect for nature lovers, with miles of hiking paths, peaceful rivers, and hundreds of sparkling lakes. If you love animals too, look out for everything from deer and black bears to dozens of bird species that call the park home.
In the Mont-Tremblant Resort, the colourful pedestrian village feels like a slice of Europe, complete with cobblestone streets, boutique shops, and sunny patios.
Downtown Mont-Tremblant (once called Saint-Jovite) offers another layer of charm. It’s an idyllic spring or summer getaway spot full of art galleries, tasty local eateries, and seasonal events, from open-air concerts to farmers’ markets.
Mont-Tremblant wasn’t the only Quebec gem to make the list, either.
Quebec City claimed the impressive second spot, just behind Banff, earning praise for its European charm and postcard-worthy Old Quebec, where centuries-old buildings line cobblestone streets.
The report even drew comparisons to Paris, highlighting the aroma of fresh bread and espresso wafting through the quaint Quartier Petit-Champlain.
Montreal followed closely behind in fourth place, just after Niagara Falls. Dubbed “a city of juxtaposition” by U.S. News, Montreal was recognized for its unique blend of 17th-century architecture and the vibrant French culture coursing through its streets.
