This warm and soothing Starbucks Copycat Caramel Macchiato is one of Starbucks’ most popular hot beverages, with just the right amount of sweetness and bold taste. For my copycat recipe—which is pretty darn close to the original—you can use regular strong coffee. Even decaf works.
Just an FYI, “macchiato” means stained or marked. This type of coffee is poured over the steamed milk, then the caramel streamed over that. It’s magical! My copycat version can be easily recreated at home, and you are going to love not spending the big bucks—or leaving your house to enjoy a caffeinated beverage. Enjoy every last, warm, caramel sip.

Ingredients
- 1½ cups milk, I find the skim or reduced fat works best
- 2 Tbsp vanilla syrup, found in most markets or on Amazon
- ¼ cup hot espresso, strong coffee, decaf works too
- Caramel sauce to drizzle on top, found in the ice cream topping section of the market
- Prepare espresso or coffee. At the same time, steam/froth the milk as directed in link above.
- Have a nice big mug ready. Add the milk. Pour coffee into a measuring cup or pitcher that can hold hot beverages, add the vanilla syrup to the coffee and stir to combine.
- Stream the coffee over the frothy milk. You’ll see the “stain.”
- Now, drizzle the caramel over the top. That’s it! Enjoy!
