This Toronto neighbourhood is hosting a huge yard sale and you need a map

Attention all bargain hunters: Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood is about to turn into one giant treasure hunt with a massive street-wide yard sale this weekend.

Known for its small-town charm and thriving culinary scene, the Junction is gearing up to host its first-ever Giant Junction Jumble Sale, a neighbourhood garage sale taking over the streets.

Instead of gathering in one central location, more than 75 residents across the neighbourhood will set up on their own lawns and driveways, creating a community-wide sale packed with vintage items, furniture, clothing, books, toys, and everything in between.

Rumour has it that some houses will even be selling baked goods.

The yard sale stretches across several streets, including Quebec Avenue, Clendenan Avenue, Laws Street, Evelyn Crescent, and more.

“Spring is the perfect time to clear out the clutter, and we thought, why not get the whole neighbourhood to do it on the same day? The response blew us away,” event organizer Ira Dubinsky tells blogTO.

Dubinsky adds that the growing number of households signing up to participate is already a strong sign that the inaugural sale could become an annual event.

The yard sale was inspired by Ottawa’s legendary Great Glebe Garage Sale, one of Canada’s best-known community shopping events. And the best part about the upcoming Junction sale? Anyone can join in.

Residents can register their homes online to appear on the official event map, though organizers say registration isn’t mandatory if you still want to set up and participate. There’s also no fee to take part. So if you live in the neighbourhood and have a collection of tucked-away treasures in need of a new home, this might be your perfect opportunity.

The registration form and event updates are available on the event’s official website.

The Giant Junction Jumble Sale will take place on May 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a rain date scheduled for May 30.
