You don’t have to fly to Italy to enjoy some top-rated Italian cuisine. This Toronto Italian restaurant received some major recognition for its authentic dishes and amazing dining experience.
Online food guide 50 Top Italy just unveiled its Best Italian Restaurants in the World for 2025, awarding a Toronto spot third place.
The guide looks at standout destinations for Italian food both inside and outside of Italy’s borders, with 350 inspectors travelling around the world each year to find the best spots.
Toronto’s DaNico took third place on the list and was recognized for its “exclusive taste experience” and “magnificent setting,” according to 50 Top Italy.
The venue, which opened in 2023, is tucked away inside a former bank and is known for its sophisticated ambience and modern Italian cuisine with Asian influences.
Created by Liberty Entertainment Group and Michelin Star Chef Daniele Corona, DaNico offers a multi-course tasting menu as well as a la carte dishes and dessert.
The menu boasts pastas, lobster, steak and sweet treats such as panna cotta.
DaNico also received one of 11 special awards — 50 Top Italy’s Chef of the Year 2025 went to the restaurant’s Daniele Corona.
In September, DaNico was awarded a Michelin Star, and was the only Toronto restaurant to earn one in 2024.
Two other Toronto restaurants made the list of 50 Best Italian Restaurants in the World for 2025. Don Alfonso, another venue by Liberty Entertainment Group, was awarded tenth place. The restaurant was bumped from its previous standing at third place in 2024.
Toronto’s Osteria Giulia came in at number 50 on the list. The only other Canadian restaurant to make the roundup was Vancouver’s Cioppino’s at number 42.
With stunning decor and delicious Italian cuisine, DaNico will have you feeling like you’ve taken a mini trip to Italy.
