A new tune might be brewing between country superstars Thomas Rhett and Tucker Wetmore, with the pair sharing a silly teaser together in an Instagram reel today (May 2).
In said reel, both Rhett and Wetmore are dressed as businessmen — with a little bit of country flair, of course — seemingly causing mayhem in the office. While the snippet is just a few seconds long, a muffled song is heard in the background, leading country music lovers to believe that a collaboration is on the horizon.
One fan even wrote in the comment section of the reel, “Duet time 🔥 can’t wait for this greatness!!”
Both artists are no strangers to collaborations, with Rhett previously joining forces with Teddy Swims, Riley Green, Morgan Wallen and more, and Wetmore previously joining forces with Conner Smith. Because of this, country music lovers have another reason to believe that a TR X TW collaboration could be in the cards.

As many country music lovers may recall, Rhett has spent the past decade creating seven studio albums for Big Machine Records’ Valory Music, which has resulted in 21 singles on the Billboard Hot Country and Country Airplay charts. Some of the most notable of said singles are “Make Me Wanna,” “Die a Happy Man,” “T-Shirt” and more.
Additionally, the Georgia native has taken home eight ACM Awards — including the prestigious “Entertainer of the Year” Award in 2020 — and two CMA Awards, as well as five GRAMMY Award nominations.
For those who are unfamiliar with Wetmore, he is a newcomer to the country music scene, making waves on social media with tunes like “Wine Into Whiskey” and “Wind Up Missin’ You.” Since then, he has had two songs featured on the Twisters soundtrack — “Already Had It” and “Steal My Thunder” (featuring Conner Smith) — made his Grand Ole Opry and Stagecoach debuts and more.
Just last week, the 25-year-old reached a major career milestone, releasing his debut album: What Not To. With several of the songs already achieving a great deal of success on social media — notably “Brunette” — it is safe to say that he is paving the way for a bright future within the country music industry.

Nevertheless, Rhett and Wetmore actually have a very close friendship, with the latter admitting to US Weekly last month that the “Make Me Wanna” singer is someone who “he’s always texting.” He then proceeded to gush about Rhett’s overall character, continuing with an ear-to-ear smile, “He’s such a good dude, and every time I talk to him, he’s just so loving and caring.”
The pair will be heading out on tour together this summer — with Wetmore serving as support on Rhett’s “Better In Boots” Tour, in addition to The Castellows and Dasha — and the “Brunette” singer admitted that he’s excited to receive tips from Rhett along the way. “That’s what I’m most excited about for this tour. Just being able to learn,” he prefaced, prior to delving into the details.
Concluding the conversation, Wetmore gushed, “He does it all the right way. He’s juggling family — and when I say family, I’m talking about lots of kids, an entire family, all of it — and music and his creative mind and his touring life. He juggles it all so well. I aspire to be half the man that he is someday, whether it’s business or family-wise. I’m just excited to learn. Be a sponge.”
Aside from touring together, do you think Rhett and Wetmore are teasing something bigger with this Instagram reel? For all of the updates, country music lovers can connect with both artists via Instagram: @thomasrhettakins and @tuckerwetmore.
