Three Toronto hotels were just named among the best in Canada

9 July 20252 Mins Read

If you’ve dabbled in staycations before, you know there are some incredible destinations right here in the city — and Toronto’s hotels are receiving the recognition they deserve in a new list of the best accommodations around the world.

Travel + Leisure has just released its “World’s Best Awards” for 2025, and some luxurious places to stay in Toronto have made the list. Each year, Travel and Leisure asks readers to voice their opinions on experiences around the world, where they share opinions on the top hotels, cities, cruises and more.

The list includes specific rankings by country, with a roundup dedicated to hotels and resorts around Canada.

Three Toronto hotels were bestowed top spots in this year’s ranking, earning them national and international recognition.

Two hotels in Toronto that made it to the top 5 for Canadian hotels were The St. Regis and Four Seasons Hotel, ranking in fourth and fifth spots, respectively. In eighth place is the Ritz-Carlton Toronto, the only other hotel in the city to make the list.

Readers chose the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, B.C., to top the list this year, followed by the Ritz-Carlton in Montreal, Que., and the Four Seasons Hotel in Montreal.

According to Travel and Leisure, readers were drawn to big names in hospitality this year.

A majority of the hotels ranked on the list were found in Quebec or Ontario, with the most popular properties being a Four Seasons, a Fairmont, or a Ritz-Carlton.

So, pack your bags and don’t worry about travelling too far this summer: rooftop cocktails and hotel pools could be on the horizon for you if you’re thinking about staying somewhere locally.

Here is a full list of the top 10 hotels in Canada:

  1. Fairmont Empress: Victoria
  2. The Ritz-Carlton, Montreal: Montreal
  3. Four Seasons Hotel Montreal: Montreal
  4. The St. Regis Toronto: Toronto
