Toy Story 5 star Tim Allen has been with his wife, Jane Hajduk, since October 2006, and he’s still head-over-heels for his partner in crime nearly 20 years later! What’s their secret? Laughing together!

“I think a sense of humor saves us so many times,” he shared in a June 10 interview with Us Weekly while recalling how his wife made light of the fact that their daughter, Elizabeth, will be going off to college next year. “Jane sat in the golf cart and said something really funny. I’d forgotten how much I adore her sense of humor.”
The Shifting Gears star also emphasized the importance of compromise and being willing to do things to make your partner happy.

“We’re very different people,” the Home Improvement actor explained, describing how she’s athletic, so he got into training, and how he made concessions for her religious preferences.

“She’s a staunch Catholic, and I joined her with that,” he said. “I’m not a Catholic, I don’t belong, so I don’t have to obey the rules, but I think she admires that I made that move. We both pull a bit on either side.”
Ultimately, the basis for their lasting love is a strong friendship, with Allen adding, “We’re pretty good buddies.”

Allen first met the actress around 2001, and the pair began dating while working in Hollywood. After about five years together, Allen proposed, and they tied the knot on Oct. 7, 2006, in an intimate ceremony in Grand Lake, Colorado attended by close family members.
The couple welcomed their only child together, daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick, in March 2009, and she later followed her parents into acting, appearing alongside her father in the Disney+ series The Santa Clauses.

Despite keeping much of their relationship private, Allen and Hajduk have frequently spoken about the importance of communication and friendship in maintaining their nearly two-decade marriage.
The couple will celebrate their 20-year anniversary in October 2026.
