Top 3 Reveals From Netflix TUDUM 2025

Picture: Squid Game, Stranger Things, and Frankenstein – Netflix

From Guillermo del Toro’s visionary take on Frankenstein, to the final seasons of two of Netflix’s most popular shows ever — TUDUM 2025 delivered some standout moments. In this article, we talk you through our top 3 reveals from the event.

Netflix TUDUM 2025 is over, and while the streamer didn’t deliver the usual gluttony of reveals, teasers, and details, they did, however, showcase some of their most anticipated shows for the year. The two-hour live event covered all things Stranger Things, Squid Game, Happy Gilmore, Frankenstein, Wednesday, One Piece, and a few others — you can check out our full list of announcements here.

Despite the numerous big reveals, it wasn’t the enormous trailer party that everyone expected. For instance, notable omissions from the event included Bridgerton and The Sandman. Even so, there were a few show-stopping announcements. Let’s take a look at what we think were the most notable, starting with the upcoming return of streaming sensation Squid Game.

Netflix’s Korean survival drama Squid Game is, quite literally, the biggest Netflix show of all time. The series smashed records at every turn, cementing itself as a bona fide global phenomenon.

In season 2, Gi-hun returns to the deadly games after leaving as a winner. However, after launching a failed coup against the perpetrators in the season finale, the games continue. With so much at stake, not least a heavily pregnant contestant, the third and final season is all set up to be an epic showdown. The trailer revealed at TUDUM gives fans a glimpse of the games to come, as well as a forthcoming face-off between Gi-Hun and the Frontman.

“The new season will focus on what Gi-hun can and will do after all his efforts fail,” series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told TUDUM. “He is in utter despair after losing everything and watching all his efforts go in vain. The story then takes an interesting turn, questioning whether Gi-hun can overcome his shame and rise again to prove that values of humanity — like conscience and kindness — can exist in the arena.”

Squid Game season 3 — the final season — arrives on Netflix on June 27.

Stranger Things 5

Stranger Things Season 5 Netflix PreviewStranger Things Season 5 Netflix Preview

Stranger Things has been a cornerstone series at Netflix since it first premiered in 2016. The nostalgic, supernatural series helped skyrocket Netflix into the streaming titan it is today. Throughout its journey so far, Stranger Things has gone from strength to strength — and the 8-episode final season promises to be an epic culmination of the story.

In the final moments of season 4, Vecna, revealed to be alive, opened up an enormous gate to the Upside Down within the quaint town of Hawkins. The hellish landscape began to spill into the town, while our gang watched on in fear. The final season is all set to be a wild ride indeed. During TUDUM, Netflix debuted our first teaser, confirming the season’s release schedule. While it mostly features content from previous seasons, we do get some glimpses of season 5. Take a look:

Check out the official synopsis for the final season:

“The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”

Stranger Things 5 is being released in batches. The opening four episodes debut on November 26; three episodes
release on Christmas; and the finale aires
on New Year’s Eve.

Frankenstein

Content revealed: Teaser trailer & release window

Oscar Isaac As Dr Frankenstein NetflixOscar Isaac As Dr Frankenstein Netflix

From the legendary, visionary director behind Pan’s Labyrinth, Pinocchio, and The Shape of Water, comes an all-new adaptation of Frankenstein. Sure, this is a story that’s been told so many times before, but never through the unique, incomparable lens of Guillermo del Toro. This version of the seminal tale is slightly different, too, setting the scene in 19th-century Eastern Europe and remixing the original narrative.

Frankenstein has been a passion project for del Toro for many years now, and it’s only just being realised at Netflix. For the project, Netflix has put together an insane cast. We’re talking Oscar Isaac as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s Monster, Mia Goth as Elizabeth Lavenza, Christoph Waltz as Dr. Pretorius — the list goes on.

During TUDUM, Netflix unveiled a trailer for the movie, showcasing some of del Toro’s signature breathtaking, gothic visuals.

Frankenstein releases on Netflix this November.
