You can count new Toronto Blue Jays signing Anthony Santander as the latest public figure to make their thoughts known about Elon Musk.
And no, he doesn’t quite seem to be a fan.
Santander shared a clip on his Instagram story about Musk’s Neuralink chip, an implantable brain–computer interface he has been developing since 2016.
Sharing a post from Instagram user @conscienciadedios, the video likened Musk to a biblical figure in a conspiracy theory, though it didn’t particularly seem to be a flattering portrayal.
What’s on Anthony Santander’s story 😭 pic.twitter.com/SyPxYUzYJX
“Elon Musk is the prototype that resembles that character who is making the image with the breath of life,” the rough translation of the caption reads.
“With his artificial intelligence and the Neuralink chip that he wants to implant to everyone… these are signs that one gets analyzed, and they align with what Revelation 13 says. They are speculations of a character that gives apocalyptic signs.”
The clip shared by Santander appears to liken Musk’s Neuralink mission to that of the beasts from Revelations.
“It’s not just monitoring, it’s total control of what you think, what you do… the bible also said that the beast will have an image that moves and speaks and that it will have the power to eliminate all that do not accept the hand,” the video states.
Revelations 13 tells the story of two blasphemous beasts, the latter of which “forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark.”
Musk, the richest man in the world known for his roles with Tesla, Inc., SpaceX, and X, has also recently been senior advisor to United States president Donald Trump as de facto head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Santander signed a five-year contract with the Blue Jays this past off-season. Spending the first eight years of his career with the Baltimore Orioles, the 30-year-old Venezuelan outfielder put up 44 home runs, 102 RBIs, a .235 batting average, and a .814 OPS in 2024.
