Toronto could feel like spring soon! Here’s how to soak it up

2 March 20265 Mins Read

Did you know that Toronto is about to get its first hit of spring-like weather as early as this weekend? It’s gone viral — everyone is saying that the city will feel like 20°C. But is that really the case? Not entirely.

Temperatures will definitely rise in the next few days, so to make the most of it, we put together a list of things you can do during that time that will keep you outdoors and having fun.

But before we dive in, let’s talk weather.

Will Toronto feel like 20°C?

According to The Weather Network, the rumours are in fact true; it’s going to feel almost like spring in southern Ontario, and in other parts, more unseasonably warmer than others.

“The greatest odds reside in the traditional hot spots; think Windsor, London, even Hamilton Mountain and other pockets of extreme southwestern Ontario, where elevation and distance from the lake give a huge temperature advantage,” shares the weather site.

Toronto isn’t out of the question either. Although we may not see 20°C weather, the city will definitely see temperatures hit the teens over the weekend.

“The lake temperatures are sitting just a hair above freezing, so Toronto’s warmth depends entirely on whether a low-pressure system can lift far enough north to flip winds to a southwesterly direction,” adds TWN.

“If the timing and wind direction pan out, the Greater Toronto Area could see temperatures spill into the upper teens. It’s far from a guarantee, but the odds increase the further you reside from the shoreline.”

Now and into the weekend, temperatures will gradually rise, with Saturday seeing the highest mark of the week. Toronto is expected to reach 11°C, feeling like 9°C.

This Saturday and into Wednesday next week, temperatures will remain positive before they dip again. Even though it’s forecast to be rainy, it’ll feel like 13°C. Maybe the groundhog was right?

So before it gets cold again, let’s plan what we’re going to do during those days of spring-like weather. After all, we have to make the most of it:

International Women’s Day is on March 8, and Kreative House is honouring the occasion by supporting women-owned businesses at Toronto’s STACKT Market.

On both March 7 and 8, from noon to 7 p.m., a lineup of women creatives, makers and small business owners will offer a wide selection of goods and one-of-a-kind products. This is a great opportunity to meet with the women behind these amazing brands in a welcoming space.

When: March 7 and 8, 2026
Time: Noon to 12 p.m.
Where: STACKT Market — 28 Bathurst St.
Cost: Free to attend

The weather will feel just right, so you’ll want to head outdoors and go on an adventure.

There are plenty of day trip destinations you can explore. But if you want a suggestion, check out these small towns and villages in Ontario with names that will make you look twice.

When: March 7 to 11, 2026

If you’re looking for a little excitement this upcoming month, make your way to Nathan Phillips Square on March 7, 2026. From 3 to 10 p.m., the popular tourist destination will transform into an all-day festival.

Expect live music all night to keep the fun going. You’ll want to stick around well into the evening as Celebrate Toronto will set off a stunning fireworks show that will light up Toronto City Hall. That’s happening right at 9 p.m.
