Toronto is getting a romance literary festival this summer with over 20 authors

16 July 20252 Mins Read

Calling all romance novel lovers! A very special literary fest is touching down in the city later this summer — cue the heart emojis.

Toronto Public Library’s BookCrush takes centre stage from Aug. 21 to 24 at two locations: North York Central and Toronto Reference Library. It’s a four-day celebration of romance in the written word, from forbidden lovers to secret flings and everything in between.

Best-selling romance writers and their dedicated readers will be able to enjoy a myriad of activities, and you might meet your favourite author too. We’re talking meet-and-greets with Alex Aster (Lightlark), Melissa Blair (A Broken Blade), Bal Khabra (Collide), Anna Todd (After), and more.

💘 Introducing BookCrush: Romance Lit Fest 📚

This summer, romance takes centre stage with panel discussions, book signings, creative workshops and a whole lot more. Heart-eyes guaranteed. Reserve your free tickets: https://t.co/oi5Hym66LW#BookCrushTO pic.twitter.com/eZEcq3KNal

BookCrush’s schedule highlights include exciting panel talks, such as Cowboy Take Me Away, which delves into the world of country loving; a workshop on self-publishing; book signings; crafts like painting your own romance novel cover; and more.

You can’t miss The Friendzone either, special programming where you can bond with other romance novel lovers, share recommendations, play some games, and make long-lasting memories, too.

If you’re in the mood for a little bit of shopping, check out Romance Alley at North York Central Library to find handmade swag, treasures and handicrafts.

With 25 authors in attendance all weekend long, it’s going to be a lovey-dovey weekend. Even better? BookCrush is completely free to attend.

Do you believe in happily ever after? See if it’s the real deal at BookCrush.

When: Thursday, Aug. 21 to Sunday, Aug. 24
Where: Toronto Reference Library – 789 Yonge St.; North York Central Library – 5120 Yonge St.
Cost: Free admission
