Toronto is hiring for tons of jobs right now and many pay over $100,000

20 March 20254 Mins Read

For many, the idea of finding a job in Toronto often leads to opportunities within the City itself. After all, with perks like job stability, attractive pay, and the prestige of having the City on your resume, it’s a highly sought-after option for job seekers.

Whether you’re a new graduate looking for your first full-time position or you’re a seasoned expert in your field, there are dozens of open opportunities across City divisions right now.

Here are just some of the high-paying open positions with the City of Toronto.

Project Coordinator

This role with the City’s Municipal Licensing & Standards, MLS Rental Standards Services division, pays anywhere from $86,716 to $112,355, depending on your experience.

If selected, you’ll be responsible for providing coordination and strategic support to a project affecting the structure of the licensing process for multi-tenant houses. You’ll also act as a primary liaison between applications and other City divisions to make sure that applications meet all licensing requirements.

To qualify, you’ll need post-secondary education in business, project management, a field relevant to policy, or public administration. Key qualifications should also include experience working with workflow tracking systems. The deadline to apply is March 31.

Administrative Supervisor Legal

If you boast post-secondary education in business, finance, or human resources management, you might want to check out this role in the City’s Legal Services and Accounting division. The role pays between $86,716 and $112,255 and requires you to supervise the human resources, payroll, accounts payable, and budgeting operations of the finance, accounting, and administration units.

You’ll also be responsible for participating in the recruitment of staff, preparing job postings, conducting interviews, and post consultations with managers. Aside from your education, you should have considerable experience with computer-based accounting systems and Microsoft Office to develop reports and presentations.

If this sounds like your dream job, you must submit your application before April 7.

Engineer

The City is on the lookout for an experienced engineer to join its Linear Underground Infrastructure Section, Basement Flooding Protection Program Unit.

In this role, which pays between $93,734 and $123,449, you’ll provide project management and engineering expertise in the delivery of capital infrastructure projects, which include environmental assessments, sewer capacity assessments, sanitary and stormwater storage, and roadway improvements.

To qualify, you’ll need a professional engineering licence and membership in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), and considerable experience applying principles of engineering related to municipal linear infrastructure. Completion of a post-secondary education degree or diploma in civil or municipal engineering is also required.

The deadline to apply for this role is April 2.

Assistant Planner

If you’re in the first few years of your career in transportation, then this position with the City’s CP Transportation Planning division might be a right fit for you. The role pays between $43.49 to $47.64 per hour for a 35-hour work week ($79,151 to 86,704 per year).

The perfect candidate would be a qualified and experienced transportation professional to help deliver a variety of transit and transportation planning initiatives, identify strategic multi-modal transportation needs and opportunities associated with growth and development, and develop leading-edge transportation policies for the City of Toronto.

To qualify, you’ll need a post-secondary degree or diploma in planning or engineering with a focus on transportation issues, and experience using corporate computer applications.

The deadline to apply for this role is March 25.

Public Health Inspector

If you have a university degree in science or health sciences, you might want to check out this role with the City’s Public Health division. Inspectors in the Environmental Health and Food Safety Programs are responsible for minimizing the incidence of health hazards through education, inspections, and investigations.

If selected, you’ll be responsible for conducting onsite assessments and inspections of food premises, public institutions, and recreational facilities. You’ll also be responsible for educating food premises staff in proper food handling, infection control, sanitation, and safety hygiene.

The role pays anywhere from $43.58 to $47.75 for a 35-hour work week (79,315 to 86,905 per year).

The deadline to apply is March 27.
