Toronto’s new water shuttle will take you across the waterfront for $5

27 July 20262 Mins Read

If you’ve been wanting to try out Toronto’s new east-west shuttle along the waterfront for yourself, you won’t have to dig deep into your pockets for a ride.

The pilot service, which officially launched back in June, is set to run until Sept. 7 and connects up-and-coming waterfront communities in the Port Lands with the city’s central waterfront and west harbour.

The scenic route stops at three points along the waterfront, including Portland, Yonge Slip, and the new Ookwemin Minising island. On the shuttle, you have the option of travelling between one or two stops or going on the journey end-to-end.

As it did on game days in Toronto during the FIFA World Cup, the service will be offering one-way tickets starting at $5 until Aug. 15. It’s recommended that you buy your ticket online to avoid the hassle of trying to secure a seat last-minute at the dock, but both options are available.

The pilot, which stems from a recommendation in the Sea Bus Feasibility Study, is set to run for an initial three-year term.

The east-west shuttle runs daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and you can find its Portland stop at 585 Queens Quay W., the Yonge stop at 1 Queens Quay E., and the Ookwimen Minising stop at the south bridge at 242 Cherry St.

If you’re continuing on to the Toronto Islands, partner taxi operators are also present at all three stops.
