Toronto’s Taco Fest is back this August with 175 varieties and 250 hot sauces, Canada Reviews

28 July 20262 Mins Read

What better way to celebrate a hot summer weekend than with a taco and margarita in hand (and perhaps a pair of stretchy pants)? Taco Fest Toronto is back at Fort York this August, and that means three days of gorging your way through more than 175 varieties of tacos from some of the city’s top restaurants and vendors!

This year’s lineup includes signature creations from restaurants like Chente’s Taqueria, Ghost Taco, Rebozos Taqueria, Tulum Mexican Restaurant, Ricks Good Eats and, of course, Birria Catrina, which won the coveted Best Taco Award last year.

And tacos are only the beginning. Head to the Hot Sauce Bar to try more than 250 flavours from around the world, or grab a sweet treat or two from vendors like Choco Churros, I Love Churros and PalettAmérica! If you’d rather pick up some new kitchen skills, check out the Los Cabos Guac School, where an experienced chef will share tips and techniques for making the perfect guacamole.

If drinks are more your thing, Taco Fest will be pouring specialty cocktails like margaritas and palomas, along with tequila and mezcal. The festival also promises mariachi, salsa dancers, live music, interactive games and dance lessons throughout the weekend.

Of course, just like last year, there are some serious bragging rights on the line. Vendors will compete for Taco Fest’s coveted Best Taco Award, with one vendor taking home the festival’s legendary ‘golden taco’ trophy!

Taco Fest takes over Fort York, at 250 Fort York Blvd., from Friday, Aug. 7 to Sunday, Aug. 9. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. General admission tickets range from about $18.95 to $24.95 depending on your entry time.

Kids under four get in free, while special tickets are available for ages five to 18 for entry before 3:30 p.m. After that, the festival is restricted to guests 19 and older.

Visit Taco Fest for tickets or follow @thetacofest for updates.
