As a Super Bowl-bound football star who’s one-half of arguably the most famous celeb couple in the world, Travis Kelce is used to being at the center of countless rumors—and he responded to one of the most outlandish pieces of gossip about him on his latest podcast.
During the Thursday, Feb. 6 episode of New Heights, Travis and his brother Jason addressed a question from a listener about his resemblance to historical figure Alexander Majors, one of the founders of the Pony Express. (In recent weeks, a photo of Majors went viral on X, with fans noting the “uncanny” similarities between Travis and Majors.)

“Did Travis use a DeLorean or a Hot Tub Time Machine to travel back in time and invent the Pony Express?” Jason asked, reading the question. “Alexander Majors my a– you can’t convince me that this is not Travis in a top hat.”
“I mean if I’m looking at myself in the mirror that’s pretty damn good,” Travis admitted.
“Yeah it’s pretty solid,” Jason agreed before Travis made a pointed argument.

“I will say that couldn’t be me because I would never be seen with that f–king hat on,” the Chiefs tight end declared, referring to the top hat worn by Majors in the photo.
Jason disagreed, saying a top hat would look good on his brother as a “pre-game Super Bowl fit.”
That’s when Travis had a sudden recollection.
“I remember wearing a top hat…” he began.

“When did you wear a top hat?” Jason interrupted.
“When I was in London,” Travis answered, attempting a British accent.
“So I got caught in my own lie,” he continued. “I enjoy wearing top hats, but only in front of 80,000 people.”
“There was a lot more than 80,000 people that saw that, but you pulled it off really well,” Jason pointed out.
“Thanks,” Travis said.
As Swifties know, Travis wore a top hat and tuxedo with tails when he made a surprise appearance onstage at a London Eras Tour show in June 2024.
Whether or not he brings back the old-fashioned look for the Super Bowl as his brother suggested remains to be seen.
